HVCC is a state licensed Outpatient Mental Health and Substance Abuse Clinic offering a wide range of counseling services. We serve adults, and children ages 7 and up out of our location in Vernon, CT. We are available to anyone experiencing emotional, behavioral, or substance-related disorders. Treatments include individual, family, group therapy, and medication management.

Medication Management.

Medication Assisted Treatment.
Medication-assisted treatment (MAT) is the use of medications, in combination with counseling & therapy, to provide a “whole-patient” approach to the treatment of substance use disorders. Referrals for Psychiatric Evaluations are made once you are an established client of the agency (usually after three sessions of therapy). However, if a referral is made from an outside provider, a referral for Psychiatric Evaluation may be made at Intake. Efforts are made to expedite Psychiatric appointments for emergencies.

HVCC accepts most private insurances, as well as state insurance. Sliding Scale or Free Appointments are available for those who qualify.

If the initial evaluation indicates a need for a more appropriate level of care, then referrals to other treatment programs in the area will be made. In this situation, you may expect a phone call or letter from the Intake Clinician to inform you of the treatment recommendations. In addition, our staff will assist you in the referral process.
